"The Country-led immersion that I attended through my workplace made me understand how much colonisation impacts the systems and structures we work in. Through being introduced to ngarrangga, I am in better positioning to understand a different worldview that includes Indigenous ways of being and knowing"
Participant, Ngarrangga Corporate Training #cultural awareness training
"We had such a great afternoon visiting the river with Arlene, I loved hearing the stories of the land where I live and work. I could understand the connection and kinship ties to Country that Birpai people have. This training wasn't like any other cultural awareness training that I've been to"

This weekend was a deeply life affirming, experiential and connective experience. Their generous sharing and wisdom brought me closer to myself, to Country (nature), and to my ancestors, and left me with a eminent sense of peace, joy and connection, along with skills to stay connected beyond the retreat. I strongly recommend this fabulous immersive retreat!
Participant, re-kindling Retreat
"I honestly feel so honoured that these precious traditions, stories and memories were shared with us. I have a better understanding of the land we reside on and the people who were here first and cared for country with such deep respect and love. I feel more connected to nature than I ever have, and coming home I feel deeply rested and calm. I want everyone to experience this weekend with the hope they walk away with as much appreciation and gratitude for country as I now do".

Arlene is a Birrbay, Dunghutti, and Irish woman who grew up being guided by Birrbay Barray in Guruk or so-called Port Macquarie.
As a daily practice, she apprentices herself to Country. Arlene is an Indigenous Ecologist with a Bachelor of Trauma and Healing, and now working toward a PhD, she hopes that her work will help guide humans back to deep listening to remember ecological connections, de-centre human authority and care for Country in a way that is deeply relational.
Arlene calls in community members to help in this important work, including Elders, bush guides, or other community members to co-design, share stories, and experiences with Country.
